KEYSER, W.Va. ‹ David Douglas Mussen, 18, of Route 4, Box 121-B, Pine Swamp Road, Keyser, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at his residence.

Born on Aug. 5, 1981, at Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late Douglas Elbert and Robin Amy (Hamil) Mussen, both of whom died on the same day.

David was a 1999 graduate of Keyser High School. During his high school career, he was active in the Keyser High School marching band, jazz band, drama program and the tennis team. He was the founder of the local youth band, "The Distorted Penguins," and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, where he participated in the youth choirs and activities.

Surviving are one sister, Amy Lynn Mussen, Keyser; maternal grandmother, Elsie Hamil Clancy, Schenectady, New York; paternal grandparents, Elbert and Madelyn Mussen, Broadalbin, New York; one uncle, Gordon Hamil, Schenectady, New York; one aunt, Valerie Apholz, Broadalbin, New York; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.
A combined memorial will be conducted on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sue Culbertson Jarrett officiating. For those attending the memorial service, parking is available at the Smith Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Viewland Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Scholarship Fund for a Grace United Methodist Church, college bound senior with a love of music or drama, P.O. Box 40, Keyser, WV 26726.
